Welcome to the 62nd Contact Meeting of the Norwegian Bioscience Society! The organizing committee in Tromsø is excited to host the 2027 meeting, taking place from January 21st to 24th 2027, at Sommarøy Arctic Hotel.
The annual NBS Contact meeting has long served as an important meeting place for Norwegian scientists, students, engineers, and industry representatives from across the biosciences to share recent advances, exchange ideas, and build professional networks. Continuing this tradition, this year’s meeting will feature an excellent scientific program with internationally renowned speakers in infection biology, immunology, cell biology and metabolism, neurodegeneration, protein engineering and computational enzymology. The program also includes an industry perspective on enzyme development and a workshop introducing software for molecular visualization and analysis. It will be complemented by mini-symposia and poster sessions, offering participants the opportunity to share their own research. This is also an excellent opportunity for master’s and PhD students to present and discuss their work with a national and international audience, potentially for the first time.
In addition to the scientific program, the conference will also offer enjoyable social activities. Nestled amid a coastal archipelago, the venue provides excellent opportunities to experience the northern lights, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for clear skies and strong geomagnetic activity.
