Associate professor in Food Science – 17/02524

The Faculty of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Science (KBM) has a vacant permanent position as associate professor in food science with emphasis on nutrition and health. We are looking for a candidate with deep knowledge on the immune system, food allergy, nutrition and health. The candidate to be employed should have research interests in molecular mechanisms behind the effect of food on health and disease, in particular the diet’s interaction with the immune system (e.g. inflammation, food allergy or microbial interaction with the host).

The Faculty of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Science (KBM) employs about 160 people. KBM represents a broad specter of scientific fields within basic natural sciences such as chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology as well as the application of these towards food chemistry, technology and safety, biotechnology and environmental issues. The Faculty is responsible for education, research and information within its remit. The Faculty has state-of-the-art analytic instruments and a small-scale pilot plant for processing of food.
